XTS5000 QCII and MDC Programming Issue
Hey folks, I am programming a VHF XTS5000 with 12.00.13 firmware for a friend and I am trying to program multiple MDC, DTMF and Quick Call systems, when I go to the personality page and I create a new personality the MDC, DTMF and QCII all revert to system 1 even though I have created multiple MDC, DTMF and QCII systems, It only happens on this particular radio, I do not have this problem with my 5k that I have. Flashcode on this unit is 560008-000486-8
I DON'T WANT A LARGE FARVA I WANT A GOD*&^*& LITER OF COLA!

Rod, it is a fpp radio. They are locked to tight requirements for programming if rev > 9 cps is used.
Re: XTS5000 QCII and MDC Programming Issue
I though I read somewhere that you can only have 1 MDC system with FPP, but I can't seem to find it. Not sure about the QCII and DTMF systems though.

Rules for FPP Capable Codeplugs
(The FPP and Zone Cloning Features)
FPP capable codeplugs allow for Front Panel Programming (FPP) and Zone Cloning.
There are many differences between an FPP capable codeplug and a Non-FPP capable codeplug. These differences and rules are listed below.
FPP Capable Codeplug Rules:
For an FPP capable codeplug, there is always at least one FPP Enabled zone, however, some codeplugs will always have a minimum of fifteen FPP Enabled zones.
The maximum number of FPP Enabled zones per codeplug is fifteen.
FPP capable codeplugs ship with 2 default systems for each available system type, such as: ASTRO, MDC, QCII, DTMF and Singletone.
FPP enabled Zone Channel Assignment channels always point to the 1st system of the two previously mentioned systems.
Non-FPP Zone Channel Assignment channels always point to the 2nd system of the two previously mentioned systems.
Certain zone and channel features in the Zone Channel Assignment window are not available for FPP Enabled zone, such as Insert, Move, and Delete. These features may sometimes be in a grayed-out state on the Productivity Toolbar and on Short Cut Menus.
When there is just one Conventional Personality assigned to a zone that is not FPP enabled, that one personality may not be deleted. This first personality assigned to the Zone, is actually assigned to the zone’s first Channel through the Personality # field.
Of the many ways to Drag and Drop codeplug data (see The Drag & Drop Tutorials Menu), only "Top Node Drag &Drop" is supported for FPP capable codeplugs.
Top Node D&D is always possible when the source codeplug is FPP capable and the target codeplug is also FPP capable
Top Node D&D is also possible when the source codeplug is FPP capable and the target codeplug is not FPP capable.
However, Top Node D&D is not possible when the source codeplug is not FFP capable and the target codeplug is FPP capable.
Other methods of Cloning such as Clone Radio, Clone Wizard, Clone Express and Write are not supported when:
The source codeplug is not an FPP capable codeplug and the destination codeplug is an FPP capable codeplug,
or when
The source codeplug is an FPP capable codeplug and the destination codeplug is not an FPP capable codeplug.
See more rules for FPP Enabled Zones in the Zone Channel Assignment’s FPP Enable field.

Re: XTS5000 QCII and MDC Programming Issue
Rod, two problems appear to be glaring at me. First the radio in question (according to the flash provided) is a "Q52 only" FPP radio with trunking and >9.xx firmware. Those don't normally work together in new firmware or old firmware touched by new software. Second software >9.xx only allows 1 (mdc, qcII, astro) system for the 1st 240 fpp channels. Check the assignment to zone tree and see that the cloning tab is there whereas normally only the zone name and channels would appear.
the problem is not only would it be one assignment for those signalling optionsthrough the first 240, but the fpp probably does not work either(even though it is available in the menu items).
