It means a bad check sum for your codeplug.

I remember getting it when I bitbanged the Spectra. All you should have to do is read the radio's codeplug with the RSS, and write it back and it will recalculate the check sum.

Are you sure I should do it with RSS? What if the radio was last programmed with a later version of CPS?

Thanks.

He should have said CPS if that's what's currently in your radio. RSS and CPS are used
interchangeably in the generic sense when discussing problems such as this.

if you have a saved archive from before this started happening you should try writing the codeplug back in a couple times to see if it clears the problem

Tried reading AND writing with CPS... Didn't work. I got an error message. I'll try reading it with RSS when I feel like getting that computer out.

IIRC, since you already wrote to the radio using CPS, you cannot go back and use RSS (unless you have an "old" RSS-read codeplug from that radio).

So after rewriting a GOOD codeplug, you still got the same error (01/82)? Weird, usually that is the easiest one to fix. I always thought it was a check sum error and you should be able to write the codeplug and be back in business.

What is the error message on the CPS? Is it a different message for when you either read or write?
