Motorola's outdoor location solution

Post by wa6ylb »

Has anyone been involved with the implementation of the "outdoor location" offering from Motorola? From looking
at the ecat pertaining to the "outdoor location" in the XTL section, a gps (Trimble Placer Gold in this example) is attached to a data cable to an XTL5000 that has the Packet data option enabled in the radio. I've looked long and hard and have yet to actually find a manual describing settings in the gps (do they use TAIP messages, or something different?) and what is set in the XTL mobile itself. If you have any PDF manuals for this, I'd sure like to look this over. Any first hand knowledge pertaining this subject would be welcomed.
Thank you. :o
