MIP5000 Cost ?

Anyone have an idea what the cost would be on a MIP5000 for one XTL5000 ?

If I'm reading the price page correctly, at a very minimum you would need:

- 1x MIP5000 VOIP GATEWAY (Local, Tone, or Digital) at $750
- 1x MIP5000 VOIP DISPATCH SW 1 CHANNEL at $1500
- 1x MIP5000 BASIC MODEL USB HEADSET JACKBOX at $500

This doesn't include the cost of a computer upon which to run the client software (provide your own or get one from Motorola), the cost of headset/footswitch accessories, or the cost of the cable necessary to connect the radio to the MIP5000 gateway. They don't list a pre-built cable to go to an XTL5000, unless you're using a W9 consolette, it would appear, though that could mean it was simply omitted from the price page in error.

Overall, you're probably looking in excess of $3000-4000 for a complete setup.

Actually, its a bit more than that. You can supply your own XP SP2 PC, but you will need to buy the license key
to get a USB keyfob to plug into the PC. The 1-4 channel license is $2,500 if memory serves me (5-8 station key is around $6K).
The local PD here wanted a two position MIP5000 and I did the leg work to get them a system. I have
all the stuff here at work for their console, and will be putting it all together this week. (I ordered it for a 5 radio system - abt $21k worth of stuff)
On the USB key - you can run the program (if you can find someone to give you the disk) 30 days without the key - then your gonna need the USB key for sure. Another thing on the W9 Astro base - you should get the digital juntion box for it as well, so ID's will be transfered to the console.
I can give you the whole run down on what it takes to set this up in a few days if you like.

Pretty sure that's what this is:

Provides the software application and license for one MIP 5000 1-channel dispatch console.
Allows a dispatcher to access and control one MIP 5000 Local, Tone or Digital Gateway.

I note also the following licensing options:

MIP5000 VOIP DISPATCH SW 4 CHANNEL - $2500
MIP5000 VOIP DISPATCH SW 8 CHANNEL - $6500
MIP5000 VOIP DISPATCH SW 12 CHANNEL - $10,500
MIP5000 VOIP DISPATCH SW 24 CHANNEL - $15,500

So, it would seem if you only needed one radio hooked up, you could buy the one-channel license.
