I recently aquired a couple of GP350s and one has a bad speaker in it. The one with the bad speaker is a 16 channel unit and the one with a good speaker is a 2 channel. I'd like to take the speaker/microphone flex assembly from the housing of the 2 channel unit and transfer it to the 16 channel unit but I'm not quite sure how to go about removing the flex that's in the side of the housing for the accesory plug. I also want to make sure I remove the speaker and mic correctly as well. Anyone had any experience with this?

Re: GP350 Housing Disassembly
Just remove the side accessory escutcheon. You will have to use a exacto knife or a razor blade.Something very thin and sharp.Just make sure you don't cut into the flex under the side escutcheon .Then the flex on the side is free.Carefully lift up on the flex and remove out of the flex slot out on the side and be careful not to rip the flex....I have done many radio housing refurbishing when I worked at a rental house on Hollywood.

Re: GP350 Housing Disassembly
So you just use the sharp knife to pry it up? I still want to be able to use the housing so will I be able to put it back on?

Hi,
You just use a knife or exacto blade to pry the corner of the accessory connector escutcheon.Just be careful. You can reuse the housing no problem.

Re: GP350 Housing Disassembly
Thanks Ko. I used a razor blade to slowly but surely pry up the accessory escutcheon and once that was off the accessory flex came out nicely. I have yet to transplant the speaker/mic flex assembly into a housing yet as I was able to aquire a few new housings that haven't arrrived yet and I plan to put it into one of those. I'll post here and let you know how it goes. Any advice on removing and transfering the battery latch?
