Anyone wanting to convert the display model MT1000 to 6 meters using my conversion documentation I have some info for this model radio.
I just did the hardware mod to 3 display MT1000's and it went well, all radios converted fine the only changes are the RSS that you will need to use for these radios.
If you follow the same hardware procedure but just use the regular MT1000 software the conversion works fine.
It is only with the 6 channel P200 low band and the 6 channel MT1000 low band where you apparently have to use P200LB.exe RSS.
Since this was my first display radio this info was not included in my original conversion documentation.
If you use P200LB software you will only have 6 channels so remember, use regular MT1000.exe for the low band display radios and hexedit things normally just like in my document, but also remember that it will take a long long time to build a 99 channel codeplug if you desire.
I stopped at 20 channels before I got bored and tired.
Also I'm receiving up to 54 Mhz and Tx to 53.14, which is the highest that I have tested tx so far on mine and this is with cap values of 7 pf and 15 pf referencced to my original document.
I have future plans to work with one of these new radios making it TX and RX all the way up to 54 MHz with at least 4.5 watts at the top end of the band.
The rest of the radios are going out to a ham in Cal. for his use.
This future work to make TX operate to 54 Mhz came about as a request from some of the southern california hams who use repeaters with TX high and rx low.
Good luck to anyone doing these modifications.

Re: MT1000 low band display model to 6 meter update
it is on repeater builders, motorola, genesis line of radios at the bottom.

I just did another MT1000 display radio, with the emergency front, and this radio did not need the VCO mods, it works 42 to 54 Mhz rx and 42 to 53 tx.
This is the first one that took programming without VCO work that I have ever seen.
