All,
I have an issued Motorola XTS2500 and the other day it made a hi-lo tone and said "EA Received" on the screen... I asked around and no one seems to know what the heck it means. I've even asked a friend of mine that works in the radio shop and she said she had never heard of it. I don't think it is the emergency mode, because that only beeps once and says "EM Received", not "EA Received". Any thought?

Motorola XTS2500 - "EA Received"
No single rain drop thought it was to blame for the flood.
Re: Motorola XTS2500 - "EA Received"
It means that it recieved an emergency signal from another radio on your system or frequency.

Stupidity creates job security!
If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

In the CPS you can make any of the Call Alerts, to include Emergency, prefix anyway you want. From the factory it is ID = ID, Call Alert = CA, and Emergency = EM. Someone could of changed it to be EA, like Emergency Alert.
