HT1000 Charger Problems.....

Post by sourapple613 »

I bought 3 used OEM moto chargers part number NTN1174A.

I can't get batteries to charge for the life of me.
Took it apart. Put it back together same problem.

Power is flowing. If i put a wire between the 2 battery contacts the red charge light appears.
I can put a COMPLETELY dead battery in there and red light stays on for a little until some power gets into the battery then the charge light goes off and nothing happens.

There are 2 pins but there is room for 4. The 2 pins (that contact the batteries) are on the two outside positions.

Anyone got any ideas? Ive got 3 of these and I need to get them working.

The 2 charging contacts is normal for a trickle charger. The same mold was used for rapid chargers also, early models had all 4 contacts, newer revisions had 3 contacts. If this condition is happening with all 3 chargers I'd suspect the battery. (Unless the source did something foolish like reversing polarity on all 3 hosing them).

Have tested with MULTIPLE batteries....
How would I check reverse polarity??
Anything else that I could check?

Thanks

Issue solved...
The seller included the wrong power supplies... They fit but are only 6.5 volt intstead of 12... Will be getting a 12 volt PS to confirm my theory.
Thanks
