Motorola Command Plus

Post by wrowzee »

Hello All,

Just got thru setting up a Command Plus console in our small dispatch center. Somehow the console was reset and now the alert tone that we used is not working, instead of a hi/lo tone we are getting just a steady tone. Is there a way to change it back? And does it have to be changed with the RSS? if so where do I find a copy for a command plus now? motorola doesnt seem to market it anymore and none of the dealers close seem to have it..

Thanks!

wrowzee,

Not sure if you got an answer for this yet or not, but you will need the RSS to change the alert tone back to "warble" or "two-tone". It sounds like the unit reset to default parameters which sets the alert to "continous". You can get a newer, win-based programming software (CARD Suite) from GAI-Tronics for around $65. Only catch is that you must have firmware which is HOST4"X" or newer for the new software to work. When you first power on the unit, it will display this version number on the display. If you do not have a version "4" HOST firmware, GAI-Tronics also sells a Firmware Upgrade kit that can be installed into the console. With the upgrade kit, you will then be able to use the new software. Hope this was helpful. For more information, you can call their Service Dept. @ 800-492-1212.
