XTS2500 ID # display

Hi Folks,

I'm working with some pre-programmed (by our county) radios, and have the
conventional side working very well.

Now, I'm doing a few modifications to the trunking side.

I noticed that when monitoring the SO tgrp, an id number (presumably that of
the transmitting radio) comes up when they talk - like an MDC ID #.

I'd like to add that to our units, and have the person's name come up on
all the other radios. (I did it for the conventional MDC & would like to have
it work the same).

Currently, the radios do not transmit (or the display feature is not enabled
on the trunking personality). However, the SO tgrp uses the same personality
as our tgrp does, so I think our radios just don't have it enabled to transmit the
ID number.

1. How do I turn on the ID #
2. Do I set the name with ID # in the trunking call list? (like I did with MDC).

Can I do these mods without the key? (I've made all the conventional mods without
it, and all still works fine).

Not sure if it requires the key, but you better be sure you want to do this because
trunk system ID's change all the time which would require you to constantly be updating
each and every portables/mobiles call ID list. Portables get moved around a lot as new
ones come in and in the mobile environment when new vehicles come in the older
vehicles get re-assigned and many times over & over you are gonna have to update
everyones radio to reflect these changes.

Thanks for the info. We don't have that many units, so the updating
isn't too much of a problem. I've been doing the MDC version for a
number of years.

Figured out what the problem is.... both portables have the same
ID number... which is greyed out in the CPS, so gotta see how it
got changed. Guess all the portables in the system have the same
ID #!!!
