Spectra fail 01/90

Post by ledzep11 »

I have a T84FWA7HA9AK Spectra that was showing fail 01/90, even after I replaced all of the caps. However, upon removal of the command board, I found a trace on the bottom of the board that was burned in half. I repaired the trace with a small insulated wire, and this corrected the fail 01/90. My question is are there any ideas on what caused the burnt trace to begin with? Has anyone else seen this?

The answer to your question lies in just exactly what trace it is. Without knowing what the
line is, it could be anything. My guess is that it was some sort of line that went to the
accessory connector and also controlled some part of the micro boot up.

Any short on the control head or options connectors on the un-switched A+ line will burn the trace on the command board. This probably happened in another configuration, Siren ect.
Remember to have a small fuse in both the Green and Orange leads, not more than 3 amps MAX.
