Renew Subscription to RVN4182 or not?

Post by W6WAW »

Just got the 90 day warning from MOL that my subscription to RVN4182 (for Astro Saber and XTS 3000) is about to expire.

Is there any point in maintaining the subscription? My impression is that there have been no recent upgrades or bug fixes. I am almost inclined to let it drop and then purchase it again if this changes.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

I guess it depends if you have a fleet of AS/XTS3K's or not. I'd venture to say we won't see any firmware uplifts as the AS3 and XTS3K are ending their supported life cycle soon, if you just have a couple remaining I'd let it lapse and save the renewal cost.

Potentially Motorola may release a newer version for Windows 7 compatibility...but I'd wait on ordering until it actually comes out, 'cause it's a big 'maybe'.
