XTS2500 FPP Questions

Post by W4KRR »

With regard to the XTS2500 and using the Front Panel Programming:

1. How do you make a space when creating an alpha tag or channel name?
2. Can you program a channel for RX only using FPP? I know that on the JT1000, you just enter a zero for the TX frequency, but this doesn't work on the '2500.
3. Can one channel be set up for mixed mode, that is, analog and digital receive and transmit on the same channel by setting the proper CTCSS and NAC code together?

Thanks!

Ken,
My experience is with the XTS5000, but for what it's worth:
1. Use the right arrow to move to the right. Use the delete key to move to the left, erasing what you've entered if something is there.
2. You can set Receive Only in the CPS, but where I just want to listen to PS I put in 146.55 or something like that for transmit.
3. Mixed mode refers to receive only; the radio will always transmit P25.
Hope this helps.

One minor correction to #3. Mixed mode is indeed for the receive side, but the transmit side can be set for either Analog or P25, but not both. So as Tom stated, if TX is set to digital it will TX digital, but if it is set to Analog it will TX analog.

Is this a channel setting or can it be toggled with, say, a rocker switch or a toggle button?

Not toggle-able. Must be set in CPS or via FPP.

I am not even sure 'toggleable' is a word.......
