I don't know about firmware, but I think their programming software (at least the RSS) is written in a C-based language, such as C++. I remember seeing that somewhere on either this board or other Spectra Website. Don't know 100% for sure. Good luck with calling them up! The Pro Radio CPS is written in Visual C++ and Amulet.
Amulet, I believe is for the user interface.
