Type of RIB and cable needed?

Post by SpectraBob »

I've been programming the standard Spectra 110-watt mobile radios for a long time now, using a standard RIB box and cable to connect my laptop to the radio. I'm now about to try my hand at programming Astro Spectra versions of the 110-watt radios. Although I do have the required CPS software on my laptop, I was wondering if my existing RIB and cable will work on the Astro versions... or do I need some other kind of RIB and/or cable to communicate with it?

Bob,

The same cable and rib will work just fine for and Astro Spectra.

If you run into any Astro Spectra Plus units you will then need a new cable (no rib is required), and Astro25 CPS.

Thanks for responding; I appreciate hearing this.

However, I've yet to hear of an Astro Spectra "Plus" radio unit... any idea what the "plus" means?
