GM300 Audio Problem

Post by Max »

Hi
I have 2 GM300 UHF radios. When I rx on both radios, and turn the volume up I get what sounds like feedback.
I have tried changing freq and added tones etc....just to see if anything would make a difference.
Has anyone heard of this problem with the GM300 radios before ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the feedthru connector (the pins that connect the RF and logic boards) is bad.

I took both radios apart and most of the screws where loose on both boards,I tightened them down and seems to have cleared up the problem.
Thanks for the help.

Just bear in mind that if they are the old style connectors you're going to keep having problems until they're replaced.

You may have a microphonic receiver VCO, a known problem in some GM300.

Try the receiving test with an external speaker.

Tried with both internal and external speakers, with just tightening the screws on both boards it seems to have fix the problem.
