R100 RSS requires a sloooow 286 computer and real DOS only. After all the RSS was written in the late 1980's.

For what it is worth, I have no trouble programming mine with either my 486/25mhz laptop or 486/50Mhz job. However, I agree 100% with Will about the fact that you need pure DOS to do it though. I tried to use a machine with a Pentium 1 that was considerably faster and ended up with the dreaded "checksum error". Fortunately for me the Master version of R100 software ( That my Motorola Tech buddy has) has an edit feature that allows an escape. Even if your computer is slow enough, if it has windows, make sure you are not running a windows kernel. Like this site, and, pretty much everyone on it stresses, it must be running in pure DOS mode.
