strange error when trying to program HT1000

I bought an HT1000 VHF portable on eBay a while back, mint looking & working radio. When I try & program the unit I get the following error: "codeplug to old for current application" I've tried numerous versions of the software with no results...... anyone have any thoughts?

Your RSS is too old, you will need a newer version to read and write the radio. This sort of error has been discussed here more times than can be counted.
