GP380 conversion

Post by Spiffy50 »

I don't know if this sort of discussion is permitted here, if not please delete this and accept my apologies.

I have a VHF GP380 which I would like to convert to a GP680 (MPT 1327). I have seen a lot of information relating to making a 680 into a 380 but never the other way around. Does anybody know if this can be done? TIA

Quick Question:
I have gathered that the GP380 can be converted to an HT1250, but will the MDC PTT-ID display on the screen after the conversion?
Is the board even capable of MDC decode? Is this undertaking even worth my time?
