HT1250 won't power on

Post by brian_m »

I'm having some trouble with my HT1250 which was working fine a few days ago. I went to turn it on today and got nothing - no beep, no LCD display (it has the two-line display with the partial keypad), no nothing. No response from any buttons or PTT. I checked the battery with a DVM, and it read charged (8.2V or so). I tried powering the radio with a DC supply set to 7V and again got no response.

I removed the PCB from the case to have a look, but with most everything under cans and the board surfaces mostly ground plane, there wasn't much obvious to check running from the battery connector - and since I don't have a schematic, I'd get lost pretty quick anyway.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you folks might have. Thanks in advance!
