XTL2500 no receive after program

I have a XTL2500, VHF using conventional analog only, that has 7 zones and 1 scan list. I added a zone, typed in all new channels in the zone, and edited the scan list. After programming the radio, it would transmitt good on the new channels, but it would not receive any channel in the new zone or the old zones. Radio had background noise if the squelch was adjusted open. I loaded the old codeplug back into the radio and receive was OK. What is my problem?

Do you use MDC by chance?

No MDC or anything special in Zones that are used. There are some digital zones, but they are not used.
