JT-1000 Question

Post by yardbirdjr »

Hello All!

I was just curious to see if there is a fimware upgrade for the JT-1000.

I was wanting to see if it was possible to make it do the splits.

If not then please advise me of a radio that I can program like the JT-1000 that will do the new splits.

Please advise

Thanks

I'm not sure what you're getting at here... what "splits" are you talking about? Split usually referrs to difference between RX and TX in a duplex system. As far as I know you've always been able to program the RX and TX freqs on a JT1000 to whatever split you like, as long as it's within the rated bandsplit of the radio.

Are you instead talking about channel deviation and spacing?

The JT1000 is not flashport capable, so new firmware would mean a new controller board, which should long have since been NLA.

I was just wanting to see if firmware was available to support the new rebanding.

I like to features of the JT-1000. I like to FPP part that way I don't have to carry a computer and cables when I travel.

Do they make a similar FPP portable that will do rebanding.

The only "rebanding" that is commonly spoken of these days is the rebanding of 800mHz trunked radio systems. Obviously, a JT1000 was never factory-produced that could speak 800mHz, much less trunking.

The XTS5000 and XTS2500 are commonly available on the used market with FPP, but with current CPS and firmware, you don't have trunking capability on those units, so it's in the same boat as above.

Perhaps you could be a bit more specific as to what frequency ranges you are concerned with, etc. Give as much information as possible about what you're trying to accomplish.

Are you mixing up re-banding with narrow banding, going from 25 KHz channels to 12.5KHz ?

If so then you should be aware that the FCC has extended the deadline to 2013 and I suspect they will do the same again in 2013.
