XTL5000 W3 to Remote O5

Post by firestick »

Just wanted to know if this conversion is possible or easy.

I've read a few posts on here but thought i might ask flat out how to do it and what parts/software i will need.

Im currently running R07.00.01 and using the RS232 cable with the small rectangular plug, would i need to upgrade these items as well?

Any advice would be great...also would it be possible for the items to be sent overseas. Parts like this can be difficult to find in Australia.

Yes it can be done. The TIB (Transceiver Interface Board/front panel interconnect on the radio) is the same between all O-series heads. What may cause a problem for you is a potential mismatch between the 05 head's software, the CHIB (control head interface board/remote control head back/interconnect) software, and the radio's software.
