Motorola GP380 Programming questions.

Post by schapman43 »

I picked up couple UHF GP380's off of Ebay. It came with the CPS software which I installed. When I try to read the radio I get the following.

"Codeplug Version not supported by this CPS"

After clicking OK I get the following
"Unable to create layout for modelIndex -1, versionIndex -1, cpStdVersion 03.00"

I've tried the following versions of CPS.
3.01.02
3.02.01

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The version of CPS which the seller (illegally) provided to you is not the correct version for the radio. You will need to find the latest version of CPS.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

correct, wrong cps for version for that radio. and since you got the cps illegally, you may want to stop telling anyone you have it. just call motorola and order the correct cps and it'll even come with tech support. and don't tell motorola you have that other version ether

Pretty sure Motorola isn't going to support a GP380 in the USA by selling CPS for it or any other means..

But he should be able to get Pro Series and then do the registry hack to open all the regions, right?

No.. GP380's use a totally different software package, not to mention there is no US Equivalent to the GP380's Select-V signaling and 255 conventional channels.

And FWIW the Professional Series GP/GM300 CPS is up to at least R03.08.03_EN now.
