Motorola MCC 5500 programming DTMF Codes

Post by cwolf520 »

Hi All,

I have just been asked to program an existing MCC 5500 console with some new KNOX Box tones (DTMF) and do not have a clue as how to do it. I can program the heck out of a Zetron console, but this MCC thingy is new to me. Is the software needed to add additional tones installed with the system software? If not, is there a contact person at Motorola that I could contact?

Sorry for the newbie question, but the only thing I saw on the board was how the MCC could or could not do trunking. This is a conventional system using only 3 different transmitters (don't even know where they are located).

Thanks for your consideration in this matter

Make sure DTMF is enabled as a paging function within the CSDM (master console settings - external program that talks to the serial port on the 1st console). Once enabled, then look at each console position while in user programming (where you set up channels etc) and look for paging setups. You can even setup a DTMF paging button using DTMF.
As to a hot keypad dtmf, I haven't tried that.
