No,

I want to play with one however; any idea on the cost ?

I didn't get to go nor did I get any brochures brought back but I did get one of our Pig Pickin shirts.

It would be nice if M updated their site. Anyone got any pics ?
Also anyone know if it still uses the same cables ?

No pics sorry. small black adapter attaches to bottom of the Motorola/Symbol MC55 PDA. software is intuitive and easy to navigate. same cables you've been using for years, no changes. good old MX connnector. db9 serial port on the bottom too!

Cool! I'm curious about the price, though... $2750.00 for A Tait which sounds almost identical to a Tait KFD that does the same thing. I'm dying to see the specs and price! And' although it's my opinion, only, I think the time is ripe to migrate to some type of USB style interface for the KVL cables. You'd have to replace the hi-rose style adapter cable, but most of the older stuff is no longer in use.

Well I rather not change. I have and still use XTS 5000, XTS 4000, APX, and Hi rose cables to change if that happened. And I also have a XG-100 cable that will be used in the future.

The KVL4000 lists for $1250 + about $3000 for Astro25 and ASN modes, and the usual configuration algorithms of AES/DES/OFB.... Of course, your price may vary.

I have one "Medussa" cable with the hi-rose adapters (Spectra, MX / STX, Saber / Astro Saber, XTS, et al) tied to the business end of it. I just switch heads. If they had a smaller interface than the old MX / STX style It would be a lot slicker - although more difficult to make "home brew" cables for. I just can't stand that giant "wart" screwed into the back of my KVL3000 Plus. Hell; it works - I shouldn't :o about it! It just seems that KVL loaders are getting bigger and more clumsy than smaller these days. It's like the "Fiber" craze of the 90's... Too much encryption aggrivates other features. And; too much division between agencies as to what the standard should be. Let's just call it AES, and drop the rest of the fancy schmancy stuff. Then; set them all up for OTAR, and make it simple -although that's a speculative term when discussing encryption and Motorola...
