Battery Initialization on Impress Charger

Post by Tim »

Hi Folks,

Just got a box of XTS2500's, and doing the initial battery charging.

The 'manual' of the charger says that the charge light will turn a steady yellow,

The first 2 batteries I tried went directly to red, and then in a couple of hours
turned green. Seems it was a 'normal' charge.

One of the batteries will give me charge information, but the other will not.

I do not believe these batteries have been charged before.

Any clues?

Thanks,

Tim

They have to do a complete cycle before any info will show anywhere. Put them in the charger, should go yellow right off. If any go red, just pull and reinsert until it goes yellow. They have to discharge then fully recharge to initialize first time. You can see this info if you have a MUC with display. BTW, I have NNTN7335A LiIon batteries here but I think NiCad and Ni-MH should do the same....

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info.

Looks like the second charge does the initialization. I never could get it to
change from Red to Yellow after inserting it the 1st time.

Seems to be working ok now.

Thanks,

Tim
