looking to setup a murs setup using moto radios. looking for two watt vhf ht's and mobile/base radios that will work on the two wide-band channels 154.570/600. looking for oldschool radios that fall under the exception for specific murs type acceptance.
i am thinking sabers set to two watts, but i am not sure about mobile/base.
i would want to mount the radio at the base of a stationmaster in a weather proof housing using a (/\/\) dc/tone remote
the mobiles would have 5/8th wave whips.
moto on murs

Max 2 watts
Can be narrow or wideband on 154 freqs, narrow only on 151 freqs
External gain antennas may be used (must be no more than 60 feet above ground or 20 feet above the structure on which it is mounted)
Voice or data ( but not store and forward packet operation)
Personal or business use

Re: moto on murs
i was looking for which moto radio would work on the 154 freq's and be legal.
of course i am guessing a saber set for two watts and placed in an sva would make a great base station and mobile.
but can a dc remote be setup on an sva?
and the station master can be 35 ft up since it is 21 ft. don't believe the fcc will bark over on or two feet. unless i find a 30ft tower and stick a mast in it to meet the specific height requirement.

HT1000 turned down to 2 watts. Works fine on both 151 and 154 channels if programmed properly.
