HT 1000 with unknown beeps

Post by emtprt »

I have 20+ HT1000s in our system. I recently received a radio Model H01SDC9AA3CN from one of our firefighters. The radio has 2 short beeps when the PTT is keyed. The double beep occurs in all frequency ranges within the bandsplit and is not effected by changing the battery or using any form of signalling. I disabled every tone option that I am aware of but the beeing is still present. I checked the programming guide and cannot find any mention of the short beeps.
The radio appears to function correctly but I can't seem to diagnose the cause of the beeping.

Any ideas???

A few ideas come to mind....

Active channel discovery beep.(rotation of channel selector, in 'scan' mode).

Scan/scan programming beep.

Scan channel lock(active channel)(while scanning)

I will check those settings, I defaulted most of the settings with an empty scan list and the switch "blank".
Thanks

I found the source. There was an AVS board installed in the radio. I pulled the board, No more beeps.

Thanks for the help
