Post by cdesio »

Does anyone know if the CDM1250 is capable of multihead configuration?

There was a kit made by valley industries or quick-mount that allowed a dual head setup to be used on the cdm1250, it was not the most reliable. Looks like IDA bought them. Here's the link, http://www.idaco.com/QM_brochure.pdf

It is still available it is $450 from IDA (dealer price) and then you need the following parts from Motorola:

CDM 1250 Kit:
(1) GCN6113B = CDM1250 HEAD
(1) AARMN4025B = MICROPHONE
(1) RLN4802A = REMOTE HEAD KIT FOR 1250 OR 1550 (same for both models )
(1) RLN5993A = REMOTE HEAD COVER
(1) 0764275B01 = REMOTE HEAD BRACKET
(2) 0305760W02 = REMOTE HEAD SIDE SCREWS
(1) RKN4078A = 5 METER CORD INTERFACE TO RADIO
(2) RKN4079A = 7 METER CORD INTERFACE TO REMOTE HEAD
"Can you make my radio do that cool squeaky thing after im done talking? I don't need the numbers just like the noise."- Customer wanting MDC-1200 because it sounded cool.

yeah it would... but the price isn't always the bottom line... Sometimes room or space to put it all is pricey enough... think of it... pretty soon the cars and trucks wont have any room to put even a remote radio head... but either way thats how i had to do it... 2 bricks in the back and then two cdm heads up front.. I am in a frailblazer now.. my next company vehicle will be a jeep laredo.. I have already scoped out the interior... i'm screwed. I dont like to say it but i might have to go back to a yaesu, kenwood or icom because of room..

Raytheon has a thin client for their NXU. Space bar is ptt. Multiple encoding rates to fit your link bandwidth. Not very sexy, but I won't be surprised to see other manufacturers go that route. Someday you can dl skins for your radio.
