Need help ASTRO Spectra Dual Head

I programmed F/R in the CPS and assigned a key and activated "dual head mode". I plug the remote cable of the second control head (fyi W4 heads)into the radio and power up the front head. It turns on along with the rear head. I get an ER 06/10 and then comes on to the Home channel. I get an error alert tone when I press the key to which I've assinged as "front/rear". I can toggle different modes/zones with both control heads. I can only power up and power down with the head you turn on first. "Remote" is not displayed on the nonselected head. It is an exact mirror of the other one.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you have two front (regular) heads. The rear head is different and its power switch is locked out. Post the model numbers of your heads.
