APX-7500 mobile service mode help

Looking for a method to place an APX 7500 into a service mode that will prevent it from starting up with the loaded code plug. I have a mobile with a bad code plug, so it starts to boot up and immediately shuts down. Mainly looking for a way to load a new code plug into it, but this will require the radio staying powered up.
