Quantar SAM Problem

Post by W6WAW »

I am having a problem with a recently acquired used SAM. Specifically, using RVN4110A, under MS-DOS, I receive an error message indicating that the computer can't communicate with the SAM. I am using com 1 (the only available port on my ancient laptop) and have cycled through all of the available baud rates. I have tried both a null modem cable and a straight-through cable.

Is there some way to verify that the SAM is good? There doesn't seem to be an option to monitor it in the Quantar RSS, unlike other modules.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Quantar SAM Problem - Resolved

Thanks to all who read this post.

I discovered that there was an intermittent issue at the DB-9 on the front panel. That is now resolved and the unit works fine.
