Rolling back CPS version in a code plug

Post by rad2085 »

Hi All
Just wondering if it is possible to roll back the version of cps that is stored in a codeplug file.

For example if I had a codeplug that was last programmed with CPS r14.00.01 is there a way to modify that code plug to open in CPS r7.00.00? Or can i modify the CPS to open a newer codeplug?

I think that i will need to hex edit the codeplug or the patport.exe file. Im just not too sure where to start.

Any help greatly apprieciated.

Regards
Greg

Even if you could, you really wouldn't want to. The codeplug structure usually changes appreciably between versions. At best, your CPS might error slightly, and at worst it'll puke when it sees something it doesn't know how to deal with.

If you had a saved 7.00.00 codeplug for that particular radio, and if the radio hadn't been firmware upgraded in the meantime, then you could dump the saved archive into the radio with CPS 7.00.00 & effectively roll it back.
