HMN4097A Telephone-style handset with keypad??

Post by Johnny Grep »

While browsing around, I've stumbled on this part number (HMN4097A) which states that it is a telephone style handset with keypad for the XTL series. Does anyone have a picture of the said handset and is anyone using it?

There seems to be very little documentation on this part number. Is there any PDF file or webpage with additional info? What kind of hang-up cup does it have? Does it have a privacy switch? Does it fit on the XTL2500 or any other model than the XTL5000?

Our current application uses the old cellular-style handset with a switch on the side to flip between speaker & privacy modes. I'd like to replicate the same configuration.

RLN6080A Handset
NTN8378A Hangup cup that comes with it
NNTN7232A Bracket for hangup cup

Handset has PTT button on left side and 2 programmable buttons
Handset has up/down rocker and 1 programmable button on right side
Handset has DTMF keys (0-9, #,*), home key, TMSS key, enter and exit key, and jog wheel (like on enhanced mic)

When handset is in the hangup cup, the Rx audio is routed to the standard radio external radio speaker.
When handset is out of the hangup cup the Rx audion is routed to the handset speaker and the external radio speaker is muted.

Will post pics later tonight after dinner.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.

So this fits on any XTL-series radio with an Ox head? Any other models?

I would expect them to also fit the APX series mobiles as I believe they take the same mic connector.
