Motorola SmartZone controller

Post by Noki007 »

Hi All,

I need help. I've a mid tier smart zone controller but it isn't working and the Motorola support is no longer available for this version. When the power supply got ruined, it destroyed the EPROM of control panel and the I2C bus in the CPU sets. I can repair the CPU sets and change the EPROM but I lost the data what it contained. I'm looking for the EPROM data of SFT 1720 control panel. Thanks for your help.

Try talking with Genesis about this (http://www.genesisworld.com), they may be able to help you. I've heard several rumors that they can generate codeplugs for 6809 controllers, etc. so you might want to check with them.

If this is the zone controller I'm thinking of, it was manufactured overseas and indeed spare parts are nearly impossible to find. I think it was used in SZ 3.0 and previous releases.

I saw someone very recently selling SZ controller modules on EBAY, might have to look around a bit but you might find what you are looking for? Unfortunately I was not interested so I did not bookmark the site.
