Desktrac to RICK

Post by ASWEEZY »

Hello,

What I am trying to accomplish is use a lowband Desktrac (33.70) and link via a rick or other controller to a CDM750 VHF. The desktrac currently has a Zentron Paging encoder attached to it but this could be moved to the accesory 20 pin connector on the RICK correct? Basically what I would need is a pinout to go from Accesory 2 on the desktrac to the 20 PIn on the RICK doesnt matter RX or TX you pick as it will be a cross.
"Can you make my radio do that cool squeaky thing after im done talking? I don't need the numbers just like the noise."- Customer wanting MDC-1200 because it sounded cool.

I think this could be done without a RICK just by locating the appropriate signals on the DB25 connector of the DeskTrac and interfacing with the CDM750 via the accessory connector. Level adjustments should be able to be made on the audio interface board of the DeskTrac station. Just seems like trying to adapt a RICK to a DeskTrac station would be pretty kludgy unless you disconnected everything off of the radio inside the DeskTrac's accessory connector, then you'd be golden.
