XLT2500 Strange behavior

Post by pfd radio »

I have an XTL2500 that was reported as beeping and cutting out transmissions in the field.

It appears that the radio intermittently beeps and transmits a short burst when the radio sees a carrier on the frequency. It actually seems to look like it is trying to be a repeater of some sort. When it goes into transmit the Yellow channel busy LED extinguishes and then it sits waiting for the next carrier on the channel and it starts transmitting again. Has anyone see this type of behavior.

Background - I have several of these radios in service (fire trucks) analog, conventional operations. Same codeplug in all the radios, but this one is acting up.

Any ideas

If its a dash mount, check the emergency jumper on the rear connector, make sure it is there and the connector is tight.

I'll check that - I do not have any emergency options enabled in the CPS should that matter?
