MCS Programming Cable Question

Post by kato56 »

The cable splits into a modular connector that I'm assuming plugs into the mic jack, and another one that plugs into the connector on the bottom of the radio. For a dash mount configuration, does it matter which connector I use to program the radio, do I need to have both plugged in or one or the other. I've tried both and it appears that both are working, I just want to make sure which is the preferred method to use.

Thanks

Agreed, HLA has it right on. I've used both the RJ45 control head cable and the DB25 belly cable, and I've never had a problem with either.

My 100 watt MCS refuses to program using the mike jack, but yet the same equipment programs a 12 watt 900 model 1 MCS just fine. However my radio programs just fine using a home made "belly cable". Go figure. GARY N4KVE
