MCS2000 SIU

Post by Road Runner »

Does anyone know if the YLN1120A SIU (System Interface Unit) will work to join 2 MCS2000 radios to a single MCS2000 Type III control head?

And if so, can the radios be setup as a mix of types?

I have a hi-band UHF Type 3 and a 900mhz Type 1 that I would like to join together if it's possible (the goal is to conserve space in my center console, which is full enough already). If I don't need a YLN1120A, is there another model that would work? I have read about doing this with the Spectra's but not sure if it is possible with MCS2000 or not.

BTW, this will NOT be for encrypted traffic, so no SecureNet being used in this config.

Thanks. :)

Pretty sure your SOL on that. The SIU is a SYS9000 device, plus IIRC the MCS2000 isn't capable of multi/dual radio. Plenty with dual heads running around however.

Negative, the analog Spectra speaks a different flavor of SB9600 than the Astro and MCS lines.

If you could find the Astro SIU it might work, but only with the old-school HHCH and likely with limited or nonexistent button functionality.
