DIU 3000 Configuration

Post by JerseyJim »

I am trying to interface an external device to an existing DIU 3000 in parallel with the existing CCii console in place today. Can the DIU 3000 be configured to accept keying commands from the ACIM port as well as TRC or E&M at the same time? I recently came across a DIU 3000 that is keyed via the ACIM and confirmed this by removing the link while he console was keyed up. However, I am unable to key the DIU locally using the 4 wire TRC or MRTI PTT to Gnd connections. Do we just need to get a local Motorola shop to come in and reprogram the DIU to accept both interfaces? If so can you program a priority to the various inputs to maintain some administrative controls?

There is a limitation on the number of "simultaneous" inputs the DIU will support. I want to say the maximum is two, so if you need an additional input, have your MSS come in and program it the way you need it. You can always shut off handset audio if you have too many inputs active and need to kill one to gain another.
