XTS2500 Audio Adapter

Post by buckydgoat »

Braintrust... I just got a BDN6676D audio adapter. I put it on my XTS2500 and plugged in my headphones and all it does is key up the radio. The reason I'm using my own headphone is cause its custom molded to my ears. (Ultimate Ears UE10) I've used it before in other model radios with an audio adapter and its worked, so I was wondering if it just dosen't work with XTS Series or if i got a bad adapter.

and BTW before you ask, the radio was off when I attached and plugged everything in.

Thanks,
DAN

I have the same audio adaptor for my XTS5000. I tried to use my iPhone ear buds and all it did was key the radio as well.

Doing some digging, apparently you need the proper threaded 3.5mm headset jack adaptor for any earpiece device to work with this audio adaptor.

For further explanation, see this thread here (goes into much more detail):

On a side note, these adaptors do an excellent job just covering up the side contacts if you don't want to use that plastic flimsy accessory cover, and it also makes gripping the radio easier as well. Only downside is the added bulk of said adaptor.

Mine is almost always on my 5K.
