What Motorola portable is this ?
Ok, speaking of seeing rare / probably non-US radios, can anyone tell me what radio this is ?
http://www.motorola.com/web/Business/B2 ... ocaleId=82
Click on the document ( an older (circa 2003) dated Motorola Impres Charger document) I was reading, and just happened to look on the first page. The first radio in the gang charger, what is it ? Looks like an XTS3000/5000 on steroids ?? It has the XTS3000 / 5000 knobs, side buttons, etc. but the front of it is entirely different. (again, NOT the Tetra radio that is clearly shown, but the one IN the 6 bay charger, in the first bay). Also, when looking at the charger compatibility, the XTS5000 is not listed there, so I would assume this was before the XTS5000 was "officially introduced".
So, what IS this radio ??

Here you go. http://www.ok1mjo.com/all/tetra/Motorol ... MTP300.pdf
Wouldn't mind having a pair on the 400-430 split for DMO operation...

That's not the MTP300 in the first PDF, it's the MPT700:

Read the original post again - he was referencing the unit in the gang charger.
Nothing but glorified iDEN nonsense anyway.

Interesting how they save all the neat looking designs for the foreigners.
Re: What Motorola portable is this ?
That MTP300 looks like a weird hybrid of an XTS3000 and an r750. The screen reminds me of an old i1000 iDEN flip phone. Do they do conventional DMO or just digitial?

Re: What Motorola portable is this ?
DMO is conventional simplex if I understand it correctly... But they are digital-only portables. Yes they do support DMO. But the bandsplits they are available on are federal (380) and the low end of amateur 70cm (420)
Re: What Motorola portable is this ?
Kinda looks like a efj 5100 with the speaker on the bottom!
