Repeater Linking help needed

Post by WB4JGI »

Hello all,

I need some help with ham linking project that myself and two other hams have just started working on.

What I've got is a VHF MSF5000 Digital Capable station SSCB firmware 5.xx and a TTRC board with firmware 5.41 in this repeater. An old school UHF Standard repeater is also at the same site. What they are wanting to do is install a repeater controller in the UHF Standard Repeater listed here: http://mccrpt.com.p12.hostingprod.com/r ... controller

Both repeaters are running PL encode and decode.

They are wanting to use the Remote Base feature on this controller and run wires over to the MSF5000 for TX, RX audio, PTT, COR, and grounds. As opposed to going through a RF link, there is no point because the repeater will be installed in the same rack.

From the information posted on this site: http://www.repeater-builder.com/motorol ... acing.html I've managed to create the interface cable, based on the CAT-250 pinouts, and hoping that this little project can be done off the MRTI port and the TTRC. This way nobody has to hack up the repeater.

This is my first project on linking repeaters, normally I'm good with changing the channel knob. But that's not the case with this project especially with it being different bands.

Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

There is also an msf programming section that you may want to review as well.....Pretty straight forward. The author is also a member here just an FYI
