Serial to USB Adapter?

Serial to USB Adapter?
Is there a proven, reliable, serial to USB adapter out there? Wondering if there's one for use on my XTS2500 with Windows XP.
Re: Serial to USB Adapter?
I have had good luck with IOGear's adapter, which I believe uses an Aten chipset. At one point, Moto identified this one as being the one to use.
Re: Serial to USB Adapter?
Thanks for the reply! I searched your IOGear and I may have that cable already. I found a Model GUC232A that I currently have and tried with no success before I posted. It gives me a communications error. The LED flashes for a second and it is set for Com1.
Re: Serial to USB Adapter?
Yep, that's it... works like a hose. I've even flashed with it, no problem. However, I'm using a Dell legacy port extender these days on my E6510 - gives me a real serial port on a new laptop, which is very nice...

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
Re: Serial to USB Adapter?
do you mean usb to serial? If so no need for it, the factory actually makes a usb cable for that radio.
