Spectra doesn't scan?

I recently bought a spectra at a relatively cheap price. The radio was manufactured in 1991 with white labels in back, MLM is v5 something, 128 channels, zone not supported. I have the radio recapped yesterday and its been receiving great. however the radio doesn't seem to be scanning. I have the option enabled, created a scan list, buttons assigned and the display shows N PRI when I enable scan.

any chance even if the rss opfion is enabled, the radio still refuses to scan?

So the non priority light is lit up during scan on one particular channel??

Yes the non priority light is lit up while sitting any channel listed in the scan list.

Is this on the bench or in a vehicle? Is the mic grounded? Have you turned on the monitor and backed the squelch off to see if there is "noise" that is getting into the radio? Are you hearing anything before doing this?

I can hear audio traffic just fine when sitting on a channel, I don't have a mic attached but would this be the problem?

I agree, disable monitor off hook and hopefully you also have scan off hook enabled. Sounds like your testing it on a bench. How good is the power supply? What are you using for an antenna?
