I have a faulty RF board in my "standard" UHF MTS2000.
Is it possible to replace the faulty RF board with a good RF board from a UHF Intrinsically Safe FM Jedi portable?
I'm thinking that maybe the Intrinsically Safe RF board is covered in "resin" (to prevent sparks) so it might not be possible to easily extract the RF board?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes you can. Only difference is the green sticker on the plastic.

AFAIK the IS Radios are sealed so there is an inert gas inside the case so nothing can combust...
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

The RF boards are much the same. You do have to realign the RF board with the controller. The softpots are in the controller.

I believe that only applies to ruggedized radios and is for waterproofing.bezking wrote:AFAIK the IS Radios are sealed so there is an inert gas inside the case so nothing can combust...

X2. "R" radios only, and there are no ruggedized Jedi radios.
