XTS5000 encryption board install

I have a XTS5000 that I am installing an encryption module into. When I took it apart there is a small black piece of foam currently in the cavity where the module goes. Does this foam need to be there with the module installed? It seems like everything will not seat back properly if I leave it in.

Take the black foam out, save it for a later date when you sell the radio and want to sell the encryption board seperatly, then seat the board into the white connector, and put the radio back together, your done
