Can XTS3K Model I RF board be used in Mod 2 or 3?

Looking to swap out a bad RF board in a mod 2 VHF XTS3K. Can a Model 1 RF board be used with the same band in a MOD 2 or 3?

Seems part number of board that is inop is NLD8898G

Seems it should be fine. Don't have service manual to consult.

Make sure you copy down the tuning values so you don't need to put it on a service monitor to realign it.

Board coming out of a tuned/aligned model 1 and going into the model 2. I will jot down the values prior to the swap from the radio to which the replacement board is going into.

I believe you want to get the tuning values from the model 1 radio, as you are going to harvest that rf board & put it into the model 2 radio. Maybe that's what you said, but it was confusing to me. GARY N4KVE

Yup, thats what I meant. It was late when I wrote that response after a crazy day of beaurocracy.

It would be best to do a full re-alinement if you are only swapping the RF board, if you swap the controller, and VOCON also then you would be safe with the M1's values.
