Re: JEDI BATTERY WHICH ONE IS BEST
Really it comes down to a matter of preference. I would recommend going with the actual Motorola OEM batteries and staying away from the aftermarket brands. There are two main considerations to take into account. One is battery capacity and the other is battery chemistry type.
As far as capacity is concerned the higher the amount of mAh the battery has (1200, 1500, 1900, 2000, etc.) the larger the capacity and the longer the battery will last on a charge. IMO the larger the capacity the better as long as the price is within reason.
As far as chemistry type there are two available for the Jedi batteries according to MOL, NiCad and NiMH. Each has it's own characteristics. NiCads have been known to have "memory effect" which in a nutshell is the battery not maintaining it original rated capacity if not regularly drained and fully charged back up again. However, NiCads have been known to have longer over-all battery life when compared to NiMH.
NiMH batteries are not as prone to the "memory effect". I prefer the NiMH chemistry over the NiCad but I'm sure there are others who feel differently.
If you are looking for capacity you may want to consider the WPNN4013A which is NiMH as has a 2000mAh capacity.

I agree with the above.
Also, most importantly, try to stay OEM. Not only do they physically fit the radio better, but the quality also seems to be well above most aftermarket brands.

While I also agree with the above, there are many aftermarket batteries with higher amperage capacity than the factory M batteries. If my job depended on my radio working well, I'd use a M battery, but as a ham radio operator, & using my radio for fun, I have been very happy with several aftermarket batteries that run longer than factory Impress batteries.
